    Course Description

The following test prep services are offered separately, and in conjunction with each other. Volume discounts apply.

  • Traditional Test Prep Options:
  • GED COMPLETE - This course provides the information, strategies and practice you need to familiarize yourself with the General Education Development (high school equivalency) examination, to feel confident about the test, and to do your best. You will learn: how the GED is scored; the content, test format, structure, and types of questions you can expect to find on the GED; the procedures you will follow when taking the GED; how to use the CASIO fx-260 Solar Scientific Calculator (which is required for the GED test); suggestions for approaching the GED questions; and best-practice test-taking and problem-solving strategies. Teaching methods include: lectures, discussions, group activities, problem sets, homework assignments, timed pre- and post-tests, and individual study plans. Topics: Language Arts, Writing, Parts I and II; Social Studies; Science; Language Arts, Reading; and Mathematics.

GED SUBJECT TEST COURSE - this targeted subset of the GED COMPLETE COURSE prepares you for specific GED Subject Tests.

GED TUTORIALS - these individual and small group sessions are customized specifically to your needs.

    CUSTOMIZED STUDY PLANS

  • Intensive Test Prep Options:
  • GED BOOT CAMPS - these intensive, targeted test-prep content and strategy classes are for students who have limited time to prepare for the GED. Boot camps are available for the entire GED, as well as for specific GED subject tests. If you have only a few hours to devote to GED preparation, these are the MINIMUM study programs you should invest in. You'll learn and practice the basic skills and vocabulary, and the critically important strategies you need to arm yourself for the high stakes test.

GED DIAGNOSTIC TEST & "TREATMENT" CLINICS – save valuable study time and increase your score by identifying areas of strength, spotlighting weaknesses that require concentrated study efforts, taking corrective measures, and reviewing best-in-class test-taking and problem-solving strategies.

GED SAMURAI PRACTICE TEST & STRATEGY SUMMITS – Taking practice tests can be an extremely effective study tool - if done properly - or it can reinforce bad habits. GED Samurai Practice Test & Strategy Summits optimize the benefits by identifying how you’d do on an GED and what you must do to improve. You’ll take a timed, full-length practice test under realistic test conditions, and participate in an interactive, instructor-led review of the solutions and best-practice problem-solving strategies. You’ll pinpoint your strengths, spotlight weaknesses that require further concentrated study efforts, improve your critical thinking skills, and develop an individualized study plan.

(I ALSO OFFER PRIVATE AND SMALL-GROUP TUTORIALS AND CONSULTATIONS.)
